Whirled Tree Arts was established in 2014. In addition to providing private psychotherapy for teens and adults, I've partnered with non-profit organizations, schools, universities and private groups to craft unique creative arts experiences that support community health and wellness as well as educational trainings and workshops on themes of mental health, wellness, social-emotional learning and trauma stewardship.
Whirled Tree Arts is devoted to supporting people in their journey toward joy through engagement in creative expression and self exploration. This takes form in therapeutic services, supervision, group and community art experiences, education as well as yoga and mindfulness sessions.
Counseling & Art Therapy
Being human is both hard and beautiful. If you or your pre-teen, teen, college student or young adult are stuck or struggling, moving through a new life phase or simply seeking to cultivate your creativity and connect with the beauty in your life, please reach out. You don't have to move through your journey alone. If you'd like to learn more about my approach to art therapy and counseling, you may view my profile on Psychology Today here. I'm licensed to serve people in Massachusetts and Vermont and accept a number of health insurances.
Supervision is a necessity for becoming a registered art therapist and a licensed clinician but it can be time consuming and expensive. With the right supervisor it can also be refreshing and inspiring and spark personal and professional growth beyond your wildest dreams. I offer affordable, professional and convenient supervision for clinicians working toward licensure in Vermont or Massachusetts. If you are a masters level psychotherapist in private practice in Vermont, you can work with me to see clients with BCBS, MVP, TRICARE, and Medicaid insurances.
Group and Community Art Experiences
Whether in the form of an art class or "paint party" or a wellness oriented mindfulness and art experience, Whirled Tree Arts can help bring a fun and creative experience to your school, workplace or private party. I have facilitated groups for non-profits such as Miles for Migraine and Love Your Brain as well as universities including the University of Vermont. I've also taught private art classes from my home in Underhill, Vermont. These classes can currently be booked through AirBnB. If you are an organization or school looking to book an event, please reach out here.
Education and Professional Development
I have taught courses at Castleton University and the Community College of Vermont and have facilitated professional development trainings at a number of organizations with a focus on art and mindfulness as tools for wellbeing and supporting social emotional learning in classrooms, the prevention of burnout and understanding trauma. If you are interested in hiring me to facilitate a course please reach out here.
Yoga and Meditation
I received my 200 hour yoga teaching certification in 2016 after over 10 years of personal practice. I often draws upon the theories and practices of yoga and meditation in her art therapy sessions and professional development trainings.
Fine Art and Illustration
In addition to my work as an educator, supervisor, art therapist and mental health counselor, I maintain my own art making practice creating landscapes, house and barn portraits and creating illustrations for children's books and magazines. You can see some of my work here and if you'd like to learn more, please reach out.
